The Corporation celebrated 61st Republic Day on 26th Jan 2010 in a grand manner. On this great day of jubilation without any hesitation the employees proceeded to their respective plants where the national flag was unfurled with gaiety and splendor.Shri MR Venugopal Director personnel unfurled the tricolor at the Corporate Headquarters.Shri JP Singh,GM,HMBP,Shri SK Saxsena,GM,FFP and Shri.SK Sharma,GM,HMTP and Shri. R.C.Choudhary, Sr.DGM (HTI) offered their salute to the National Flag on this great day.
A colorful parade and mock drill of CISF personnel on preparedness to meet any untoward incident were the main attraction of this year republic day celebrations at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main function venue. The parade was held jointly by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, the School Children of the Corporation and NCC cadets.The march past was watched by the Directors, Senior Officers, Employees of the Corporation, CISF Ranks, School Children, and Representatives of Unions besides residents of the Township.
Shri GK Pillai CMD, HEC Ltd, the Chief Guest for the occasion, in his speech lauded the efforts made by the employees for bringing laurels to the company which had recently been bestowed with SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management – Special Institutional (Turnaround) Category 2007-08 and “Industrial Excellence Award”, for 2009 instituted by the Indian Nuclear Society (INS), Mumbai. He further highlighted the achievements of the company, targets to be met in the coming months and the future plans of the company which included setting up of Medical College and Nursing training college to the benefit of a larger section of the local population. A formal event of distribution of the inaugural issue of HEC Parivar 2009-10 was also held where in Shri G.K.Pillai CMD HEC handed over copies of the Quarterly in-house magazine to the Outstanding Employee of the Year Award winners and Girl NCC cadets from HEC High School who had brought glory to company by representing Jharkhand in the Inter Group Governor Banner Competition held at Munger and won medals with Appreciation Certificates
At a function later held at HEC Plant Hospital, members of the HEC Mahila Samiti, distribute sweets and fruits among the indoor patients and wished them speedy recovery. The members of the HEC Mahila Samiti, under the leadership of Smt. Anila Pillai, first lady of the Corporation, has been rendering yeomen services to the needy and vulnerable section of the society.
