Hon'ble Minister for HI & PE Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh visited HEC on 13 the February, 2010 along with local MP and Hon'ble Minister for Food Processing Shri Subodh Kant Sahai. The Ministers' visit started with Guard of Honour in the Headquarter premises of HEC followed by tree plantation. Hon'ble Minister saw the presentation on HEC and met Directors and senior officials of the company.
In the midst of tremendous excitement of workmen and employees, the Minister took entourage of important shops. In Heavy Machine Building Plant he flagged off the 551st Electric Shovel of 5 Cum capacity to Coal India limited. It was brought to the kind notice of Shri Vilasraoji that HEC in previous days could manufacture 3 to 4 shovels per year but today we are manufacturing at least 2 shovels a month. In Foundry Forge Plant he saw the steel making and forgings of big ingots.
Hon'ble Minister was enthralled to see the huge infrastructure facilities and expressed his feelings while addressing a group of officers. He pointed out that HEC has immense potential and great future ahead. He congratulated Shri Subodh Kant Sahai of having this mother industry in his constituency and desired to extend all possible help for the growth of this organization which has been in the service of nation since its inception.
