Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited, Ranchi celebrated "HEC DAY" today, commencing with a "March for Prosperity", from HEC Ground (Near Check Post, Sector-II) to Nehru Park (Friendship Avenue, HEC) which was a journey full of inspiration. People from all the plants and divisions of HEC participated with much fervor as they marched for a cause. The Doctors, Nurses and Para-Medical Staff, school children, Ladies from the Mahila Samiti, CISF personnel and Union Representatives also participated in the march and shared their enthusiasm & joy. The event was flagged off by Shri R Misra, Director (Finance), HEC Limited.
The march culminated at Nehru Park where a four-hour programme followed. The exuberant crowd was welcomed by Smt. Sangeeta Sinha, SDGM, Estate. During the occasion the latest issue of HEC Parivar magazine was released by Shri GK Pillai, CMD, HEC. Speaking on this occasion, the Union representatives recollected the journey that the Corporation had embarked since 1963 and expressed their collective commitment to reach greater heights for the Corporation. In his address, Shri Ravindra Verma, CVO/HEC stated that the people of HEC work with full sincerity and dedication for the benefit of the organization without compromising their integrity. Shri Kushal Saha, Director (Production), highlighted the achievements of the Corporation and stressed on the improvements required for increased production to meet the targets. Shri R Misra, Director (Finance), enumerated the financial scenario and the challenges faced by the Corporation and urged all to achieve the current year’s target of Rs 1000 crores.
Shri G K Pillai, CMD, HEC in his address, congratulated the HEC Team for successfully getting over with the turbulent times the Corporation had faced. He expressed that with greater enthusiasm and team work, we would be able to achieve our target of 1000 crore. HEC has demonstrated its capability and contribution to nation building in the past and once again we are being seen as a champion team in 12th Five Year Plan where it can play an increasingly significant role in strategic sectors.
On this occasion 7 ex-servicemen of the Corporation were honoured including two Sr. officers, Shri George Mathew & Shri T L N Shourie, who had joined HEC in 1961 & 1962 respectively completing more than 50 years. Also, three NCC cadets belonging to HEC High School, Dhurwa were recognized for their performance at national level. Birth Day greetings were also offered to seven employees.
